NAZ Suns Launch Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

Fans can submit names of loved ones for a chance to see them printed onto Suns’ jerseys

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona Suns launched their Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Tuesday that will run until Friday, Sept. 29.

Fans are encouraged to submit names and stories of loved ones affected by breast cancer for a chance to see those names printed onto NAZ Suns jerseys. Players will wear those jerseys against the Iowa Wolves during their second annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m.

The jerseys will be auctioned off immediately following the game with all proceeds benefitting breast care programs around the community.

The NAZ Suns and Yavapai Regional Medical Center partnered last season. Together, they hosted the team’s inaugural Breast Cancer Awareness Night in March.

Coaches, volunteers, employees and fans wore pink ribbons in support of the cause, while players sported pink jerseys for the game, which included the BreastCare Center logo on the front. Following the game, each player’s jersey was auctioned off, helping to raise over $5,000 for the BreastCare Center at YRMC.


This year, the Suns hope to build on that foundation and bring more awareness for YRMC BreastCare Center and other breast cancer programs around the area.
