Lady Badgers Soccer Team Finally Beats Flagstaff 2-0

25 January 2020

After a long drought consisting of 10 losses, the Badgers bring home a victory against Flagstaff, with a score of 2-0.

The #1 Prescott Badgers won a big game at Flagstaff tonight by the score of 2-0. The series between the two schools has been lopsided, with the Eagles from Flagstaff winning the last 10 meetings. The Badgers came close last season, but fell 2-1.

This year the offense produced a pair of goals, leaving the rest up to the defense and goal keeper Lauryn Mayhan. Kari Kasun scored the only goal of the first half. Hailey Mayhan added a goal in the second half, and that was all that was needed.

Ellie Magnett said, “It’s like four years of hard work paid of beating Flagstaff. Everyone did it for the seniors.”

Coach Paul Campuzano said, “I am so happy and relieved for the girls. You see them sacrifice for each other on the field and know that something special is going to happen each game. They are a real amazing group. I am so proud of the.”

Prescott (2-0) in Grand Canyon Region and (11-0-1) overall will host Coconino on Tuesday at 5pm.
