Visiting Saguaro broke open a close game early and beat the Prescott Lady Zbadgers 60-23 in the Badger Dome, Friday night.

The Lady Badgers trailed by only seven after the first quarter, but the Sabercats controlled the game from that point forward. Saguaro led 32-14 at the half.

Kira Reily led Prescott with 15. Hollie Dalton was held to only 4 points.

Coach Bobbi Yoder said, "We struggled to stick to  our game plan against a really good team and the game got away from us quickly."

The Lady Badgers (2-4), will host The Lady Badgers Winter Classic and will play at 9am and 3pm on Friday, December 27 and Saturday, December 28 at 8am. The outcomevif those games will determine when Prescott will again on Saturday.

Varsity Boys Basketball

The Saguaro Sabercats used a fourth quarter rally to beat the Prescott Badgers 69-65 last night in Scottsdale.

The Badgers were led by Korey Schwartz with 22 points. Sam Yeager and Jason Parent had 17 each.

Prescott came back to to take a halftime lead of 34-32, after trailing by nine after the first quarter. 

The Badgers came out strong in third quarter, increasing their lead to 57-50.

Prescott struggled in the final eight minutes, while being outscored 19-8 and giving up the lead, eventually falling by four.

Coach Travis Stedman said, "We let this one get away."

Saguaro improves to (2–10) while the Badgers drop to (2-4). Prescott (2-4), will play at Coconino on January 7 at 7pm.
