Girls Golf shines on Senior Night, Volleyball falls at home

The Prescott Badgers dropped a home match to the Coconino Panthers 3-1 last night in the Badger Dome.

Prescott trailed in the first game by as many as 9, and ended up losing 25-18. The second game, the Badgers came out and took a quick 9-1 lead, but the Panthers battled back to get within 17-15, before Prescott pulled away for a 25-17 win.

The Panthers took games three, and the deciding game four, but it was not easy as the Badgers fought tooth and nail with the games tied multiple times down the stretch. 
Coconino took the third game 26-24, and the match winner 27-25.

Prescott (3-6) and (6-7) will host Mingus next Tuesday at 6pm. Coconino will host Mingus tonight.

Girls Varsity Golf

Lady Badgers improved to (7-1-1) on the season with a tie and win on Senior night. Prescott tied with Division 1 Sandra Day O'Connor, and beat Mingus. 

Senior Kaity Kasun had a stellar personal best score 40 with an eagle on her last hole. Brannagh Woods finished next for the Badgers 46. The seniors who started the Girls golf program 2 years ago are Kaity Kasun, Alyana ONeil, Hailey Mayhan and Lauryn Mayhan.  

Coach Deb Fitzgerald said, "These ladies have helped the program reach new levels including  being ranked 14th in D2. The only loss was to Boulder Creek D1 and today tie with D1 Sandra Day O'Connor." 

The next match will be the state play-in next Tuesday, October 22, at Aguila Golf Course.
