One never knows how a team will respond after a loss, but for Coach Carolyn Peters, her team did just fine in a 9-0 win over Phoenix North Canyon.

Mountain Ridge gave the Badgers their first loss of the season last Thursday, so the team had a few days to collect themselves and get back to the business at hand. Prescott dominated, winning all their matches in two games.

Coach Peters wanted to give special recognition to sophomore, Lauren Mazzella, who moved up from junior varsity to the #6 varsity player. She is undefeated all season, which includes junior varsity and varsity play.

The badminton team not only has some really good players, but even better students as five players had to rush out after their games because they were getting inducted into the National Honor Society.

The players inducted are seniors, Staci Irvine, Cailey Kreikemeier, Lilli Kelley, along with juniors Sierra Rosdahl, and Alexa Scholl.

Coach Peters added, “I have a great team.” The Badgers (7-1), host Sandra Day O’Connor this Thursday at 4:00pm, in the girls gym at Prescott High School.
