P&Z to consider Bradshaw Drive development.

The Prescott Planning and Zoning Commission meets at 9 tomorrow morning to consider a rezone for a proposed development. The rezoning would allow development of a subdivision with 37 lots. Most of the property on Bradshaw Drive is zoned Business General and that prohibits residential development. According to Planning Manager George Worley, the property was planned for a hotel or resort center back in the 1980's, but that never happened. Specific changes to the layout include removal of townhome lots in Phase 2, enlargement of the northern lots to reduce grading into the steep slope and reduction of the number of lots from 40 to 37. In addition, the loop road would be made a one-way road to reduce the impact of multiple access points on Bradshaw Drive. The Planning and Zoning Commission meets in City Council chambers, located on South Cortez Street.

Free check for your kids’ car seat!

Get your child's safety seat checked at no charge. Yavapai Regional Medical Center and Prescott Valley Police Department personnel will be on hand from 11 to 2 tomorrow to inspect seats. Participants are asked to bring their vehicle or vehicles that have the seats, their child or children and the caregivers who will be using the seats the most. No registration is needed for this event, which will take place in the Police Department parking lot on Civic Circle. Anyone who needs a new car seat is asked to call YRMC's Family Resource Center at 771-5651. Child safety seat classes are held on the second Thursday of each month by reservation only. This ensures there are enough seats on hand and to handle more urgent needs from those who call the Center, which is located at the Del E. Webb Outpatient Center on Windsong Drive in Prescott Valley.
