Featured

Mental health and clean water are the two topics for the day.

MATForce talks Community Mental Health Resources

Join the community conversation on mental health resources. MATForce, Yavapai County’s substance abuse coalition and the Humboldt Unified School District are hosting a conversation about bringing resources to the forefront of the community to help reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues. Participants will learn about the facts, myths, warning signs and what to do when you or someone you know is experiencing signs and symptoms of depression, anxiety or suicidal thoughts. The conversation is set to occur tonight at 5:30 in the Humboldt Unified School District Office Transportation Room, located on Robert Road in Prescott Valley.

Chino Valley honored for Clean Water Project of the Year

The Town of Chino Valley has received a Clean Water Project of the Year award. Water Finance Authority officials have announced Chino Valley has been honored for the design and construction of septic and sewer projects, which reduce the potential risk to local groundwater quality. The Town had borrowed more than 1 million dollars to extend its sewer collection system. The extension down West Center Street has prevented the installation of septic systems in residences in the Mollie Rae subdivision. Authority officials add as part of the project and extension on South Road 1 West, septic systems have also been decommissioned. New homes built in those areas will tie directly into the Town’s sewer system, instead of relying on septic tanks.

The Clean Water Project of the Year award was presented during the Chino Valley Town Council’s February 27th meeting.
