A vehicle fire was quickly put out by Prescott Fire Department.

On July 10th, at about 9 AM, Prescott Fire Dept. dispatch received a 911 call for a car fire in the 600 block of Tawa Court in the Yavapai Hills subdivision of Prescott. The initial unit arriving on scene found a 2016 Toyota RAV4 hybrid vehicle that was fully involved in flames. They pulled an inch and three-quarter handline for fire attack and had the fire knocked down in about one minute.

Being a hybrid vehicle, research was quickly done to locate the main high voltage battery pack fuse and that fuse was pulled to render the electrical system safe.

It’s unknown what actually caused the SUV to become engulfed in flames and the property loss is estimated at about $22,000.
