If going to college is penciled in on your list of future plans, Yavapai College wants to enable prospective YC students to test drive college life on Friday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Prescott campus (1100 E. Sheldon Street). The inaugural Be YC for A Day is a free event open to the first 200 people to register. It is designed to illuminate the YC student experience in a day filled with such activities as mini classes in a variety of academic and career fields. Lunch will be provided at no charge.
Register online at www.yc.edu/bYC4aday, or email email@example.com. “Participants will experience first-hand what it’s like to be a in a college class and interact with YC faculty who are experts in their fields,” said Heather Mulcaire, YC director of recruitment and early college programs. Be YC For A Day is for anyone considering pursuing a degree or career training. High school juniors and seniors and adults contemplating going back to school are encouraged to sign up. “We know that so many students have anxiety about navigating college and sometimes showing up for the first class is the hardest,” Mulcaire said, adding, “We want to welcome folks to our beautiful campus, give them a taste of subject matter that is relevant to their interests and give them access to YC staff and faculty who can help them take their next steps at YC.”
