Quad Cities Brew Up Plenty To Do This Weekend

24 September 2016
It’s shaping up to be a very busy weekend across the quad city region.

The 10th Annual Prescott Intertribal PowWow takes place at Watson Lake, starting this evening with the Grand Entry at 7 PM. On Saturday and Sunday, enjoy the Native American American gathering, with a theme of ‘Elders Embracing the Youth’. See the PowWow schedule here.

You might want to head to downtown Prescott after the PowWow, because quite a lot is happening near the Square.

Love cars? Really love Corvettes? Then the Corvette Car Show is the place for you. Over 250 oh-so-pretty ‘Vettes will be on display around the Courthouse, and it’s the can’t miss event of the year for car-lovers.

They’ll be there all morning on Saturday, and won’t break down until late afternoon. Admission is free.

While you’re oohing and aahing over those lovely cars, you might want to walk over to the Mile High Middle School field, where Oktoberfest will take place, even though it’s only September. What’s Oktoberfest, you ask? Think Arizona Craft Breweries and Select Wines from Trader Joes (Saturday), and Hensley Select raft Beers and German Beers (Sunday).

It costs $20 for an eight-sample ticket.

Hours: Saturday 5 PM-10PM and Sunday 12 Noon - 5 PM.

Cars and beer not your thing? Well, how about dogs? For the price of a $5 parking ticket, you can head into the Prescott Valley Events Center to see some of the most adorable critters ever to grace the canine species. Dogs, dogs and more dogs will be at the AKC Sanctioned All Breed Dog Show strutting their stuff and you won’t want to miss it.

Time: 8 AM - 5 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Those who love animals might also be interested in the Sequins & Saddles event in Chino Valley. This takes place on Saturday from 6:30-9:30 PM, and benefits scholarships for Chino Valley students and Horses With Heart riders.

Have a great weekend!
