It's just about 45 minutes until the start of The X Factor USA, where Chino Valley phenom Drew Ryniewicz will try to keep up her momentum as she competes for a $5 million recording contract.
She's gone through several levels already, wowing the judges and America. But for the first time, last week, it wasn't all praise and compliments. Drew was criticized for her self-designed outfit and one of the judges, LA Reid, even implied that her singing was beginning to all sound the same. In spite of that, Drew was one of the top nine acts in the show, as voted for by the American television and Internet audience.
Fashion consultant and designer for the acts, June Ambrose, defended the outfit however, stating, "It's about pushing the envelope, about her [Drew] being whimsical and crazy... It was Hollywood week... It's very pop, very pop art. I have no regrets in terms of pushing the envelope with Drew."
Tonight is Rock'N'Roll night, and all the acts will be performing rockin' pieces. Twenty minutes ago, Drew wrote on her Twitter page, "Getting ready to go onstage.. Ahh so nervous." But, later she tweeted to her mentor, Simon Cowell, "I won't let you down," and then, "Hip hop? I'm ready if you are Simon!"
She has given a couple of hints about her wardrobe, however. This week, she'll have a bit of a departure, and wear shoes. And, on her twitter page, she posted an, "Outfit hint."
Oh, my! This looks interesting.
As soon as we have the information about how to vote for Drew, we'll post it here, so check back often!
In the meantime, good luck, Drew! You've got quite a DrewCrew in Arizona's Chino Valley, Prescott and Prescott Valley and we're all pulling for ya!
