wetipannouncSaturday night's Freedom Rally in Prescott Valley has added Arizona State Senator Russell Pearce to the lineup of speakers.

Pearce, widely considered the author of the controversial Senate Bill 1070, explains on his website, "Illegal is not a race, it is a crime. SB1070 simply codifies federal law into state law and removes excuses and concerns about states inherent authority to enforce these laws and removes all so called “sanctuary” policies... Arizona did not make illegal, illegal, illegal was already illegal. It is a crime to enter or remain in the U.S. in violation of federal law 8USC 1324 and 1325. States have inherent authority to enforce immigration laws and yet has failed or refused to do so. Well here in Arizona we are going to enforce our laws, protect our citizens and stand firmly behind the rule of law."

Currently, SB 1070 is the focus of several lawsuits, including one by the Federal Department of Justice, which are seeking to prevent SB 1070 from becoming law next Thursday, July 29.

Also speaking at the Freedom Rally, sponsored by (We The Informed People) will be Victoria Jackson, a comedienne from Saturday Night Live.
