Tough match for the Eagles Men’s Golf team.

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Despite a career performance by Kyle Peterson (SR/Peoria, Ariz.), Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) men's golf struggled as unit to get into contention at the Desert Classic hosted by Park University (Ariz.) at Bear Creek Golf Course.

"We are very pleased with how Kyle played and excited for him shooting his lowest career round so far," coach Mike Haddow said. "We will be looking to figure out our lineup before Moon Valley.  Both Sean and Connor had a great tournament as individuals. Our goal is to post scores under 300 like today."

The senior posted a good score of 72 (+1) on Wednesday, which put him in a tie for ninth. On the second day of the event, Peterson went out with a bang hanging a 66 on the leaderboard before the day was done.

Connor Wallace (SO/Fish Camp, Calif.) finished the tournament as the second lowest Eagle shooting a 75 and 71. Unfortunately, the sophomore was playing as an individual and his score would not count for ERAU. Sean Poling (JR/Phoenix, Ariz.) had the third lowest tournament score with his 151 but he too was playing as an individual.

The Eagles will play in the Arizona Christian Fall Invite at Moon Valley Golf Country Club in Phoenix on September 23.
