Teen Advisory Group (TAG) Honor Local Vets with “Cents for Soldiers”

Prescott Public Library’s Teen Advisory Group (TAG) is always looking for ways to serve the community. Last November teens decided to honor local veterans by making “Cents for Soldiers” collection jars.  For three months the teens and their families dropped spare change into their jars. In total, the teens raised $132.24 which they presented to Patricia Aljets, the Voluntary Service Manager at Prescott’s VA Hospital.  On February 21, Aljets took teens on a historical tour of the VA facilities and encouraged them to participate in the youth volunteer opportunities available at the VA. “What do you like best about your job?” asked a TAG member. Aljets heartfelt response was inspiring “Giving back to these wonderful Vets.” For more information about the Teen Advisory Group (TAG), please contact Jennifer Kendall at

Presented with funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library.
