More than 1,400 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University students will earn degrees as commencement ceremonies will be held for the Daytona Beach, Fla., Prescott, Ariz., and Worldwide campuses in May.
Commencement speakers for all three events are Embry-Riddle graduates who are leaders in aviation safety on a national level, global security and intelligence and military/corporate business development. Live web streaming of each ceremony will be available.

PRESCOTT, ARIZ. CAMPUS (TO INCLUDE WORLDWIDE GRADUATES)
The commencement ceremony for 291 students of the Prescott Campus and 37 of the Worldwide Campus will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, at Prescott Valley Events Center, 3201 N. Main St., Prescott Valley, Ariz. For more information on the Prescott/Worldwide commencement, go to prescott.erau.edu/campus-life/graduation. The graduating class includes 19 Prescott students receiving military commissions: 11 from Air Force ROTC and eight from Army ROTC.
Commencement speaker will be Gabriel L. Navarrete: Chief Security Officer, Falcon Global Strategies.
An Embry-Riddle alumnus, Navarrete graduated from Embry-Riddle Prescott earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Science in 1988 and was a member of the Golden Eagles Flight Team.
Navarrete is the Chief Security Officer for Falcon Global Strategies, a global think tank. Navarrete brings to his position more than 26 years of global security experience, including over a decade of protective security management. He is a former Special Agent with the U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration and is a graduate of the DEA/FBI Academy in Quantico, Va., where he received a Pistol Expert Award. Two months after the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, he served as the Senior Director of Corporate Security & Safety for Sybase and was tasked with creating a global corporate security program.
Navarrete supports the Prescott Campus through philanthropic giving and service as a member of the Prescott Campus Board of Visitors. He was inducted into the Chancellor’s Alumni Hall of Fame during the campus’ OctoberWest 2015 homecoming celebration, and Navarrete and his wife Carmen are parents of Emilio Navarrete, currently a sophomore at Embry-Riddle Prescott studying Safety Science.
