Badger Swim Teams Combine to Outscore Wickenburg 228-46.

PRESCOTT- Harris Temple, Paul Kinach and Tate Bassett each scored twelve points for the boys’ swim squad while Trinity Lazzell, Bria Christopherson and Lacey Ingallina each accumulated twelve points for the girls’ swim squad as the Prescott High School swim team won the season opening meet against Wickenburg by a combined score of 228-46 at the Prescott YMCA Thursday afternoon, August 31st.

“We’re early in the season, we’ve only had three and a half weeks of practice,” Prescott High School Swim coach William Riviere said. “They look good for their first meet and we got some good times and are looking for things to get better throughout the season.”

The boys’ swim team beat Wickenburg 101-37.

Bassett and Kinach each placed first in two races while Temple won three races.

“It really brings us together getting a win,” Temple said. “It makes everybody excited about our further meets, getting in the water (and) getting better each time.”

Meanwhile, the girls’ team dominated Wickenburg by a score of 127-9.

Prescott High School girls placed first in each race in route to taking the first seven spots in the leaderboard as Lazzell, Christopherson and Ingallina tied for first with twelve points each, Lily Deakin scored ten points for fourth place, Alycia Warren got nine points for fifth place while Victoria Winsberg and Makenna Jex each accumulated eight points for a sixth place tie.

The Prescott High School swim team takes on Temple and Camelback on Thursday afternoon, September 7th, at the Prescott YMCA. Start time is 4pm.
