Only a few days of classes left in the Prescott Unified School District
Tomorrow morning an End of the Year Awards Ceremony will be held in the Granite Mountain School Gym. At 6:30 that night, the Prescott Mile High Middle School 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will be held at Bill Shepard Field at Prescott High School. Tomorrow is also a half-day for high school students. Thursday is the last day of instruction and a half-day for all students. Friday night at 7 is the Prescott High School Commencement Ceremony, also at Bill Shepard Field. Meanwhile, in the Chino Valley Unified School District, today is the last day for classes. The 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony was held last night at Yavapai College in Prescott. High School graduation is at 7 tomorrow night at the Prescott Valley Event Center.
As part of Wildfire Community Preparedness Month, some fire prevention tips are being offered
Yavapai County officials say now is the time to create defensible space around your home. During a recent live appearance on Talk of the Town on KQNA 1130 AM and 99.9 and 95.5 FM, Prescott Area Urban Wildland Interface Commission Chairman Bob Betts described what defensible space involves. Prescott Fire Marshal Don Devendorf outlines some safety tips for homeowners. Yavapai County is offering a free drop-off program at its transfer stations through June 11th. Items such as brush, branches, grass, leaves and yard clippings must be removed from trash bags.
